Clear Blue Tiles Quilting in the Hoop

This class will be using Kimberbell Clear Blue tiles and Kimberbell Quilting Background Quilting designs to put the finishing touch on your projects.

Bring an unfinished quilt top that is between the size of a table runner and throw.  If you don’t have a quilt top ready at home, one of our customers has offered to bring a charity quilt in for you to practice on.  Just let us know if you are going to need one so we can have her bring one for you.  (Keep in mind that you need to complete the charity quilt quilting prior to returning it to her)

All clear blue tiles are available at the shop for purchase.  You will need the essentials set, or one of the expansion sets Clear Blue Tiles

You will need to bring your own Kimberbell Background quilting files with you loaded on a USB.  PLEASE use our Affiliate Link on sunshinequiltshoppe.com to purchase if you need to purchase designs.

Supply List;
A small project to quilt OR small charity quilt from our customer.

Batting and Backing to make your quilt sandwich.  Please make your backing and batting is at lease 6 inches bigger in all direction to allow for fully quilting to the edge of your project. (think long arm requirements). Kimberbell Batting

505 Basting spray

OESD Dissolvable paper tape

Clear Blue Tiles

Marking Pen or tool - (I don’t recommend using the pen that comes with the clear blue tiles.  There have been multiple complaints with that product.). My favorite marker for quilting is Clover's Thick Water Erasable Marker

Tear away stabilizer - to help getting the quilting all the way to the edge of your project.

Embroidery machine in good working condition.

A magnetic hoop is highly recommended, but not required.  Using a traditional hoop causes “hoop burn” , and can sometimes be difficult to hoop. We have time to order a magnetic hoop in for you if you wish.

Thread that compliments your quilting project.  I recommend using the same thread color in your bobbin for the best stitch results.

Embroidery Needles and machine accessories.

A Hand Needle with a larger eye to bury your threads is helpful too.

Skill Level: Intermediate
