Alaskan Star Table Topper
Join us for a fun and relaxed class where you’ll create a stunning 19” x 19” Alaskan Star Pillow or table topper. This traditional design uses the Creative Grids Alaska Ruler to form a bold, dynamic star that looks complex but is achievable for all skill levels. Whether you’re a beginner or seasoned stitcher, you’ll enjoy learning techniques for precision piecing and ruler use in a supportive and creative environment.
What to Bring (We sell these items)
*Alaskan Star Pillow Pattern and Alaska Ruler
Fabric:
* 1/3 yard each of 2 coordinating prints (background, and contrast)
* 1/8 yard of fabric for main star
* 1/8 yard for border
* 1/4 yard for binding
* 2/3 yard for backing
* Batting (at least 24” x 24”)
* Sewing machine in good working order
* Thread to match
* Rotary cutter, 6" x 24" ruler
* Fabric marking tool
* Basic sewing supplies (pins, seam ripper, scissors, etc.)
Bonus: Rebecca will walk you through tips for cutting and assembling with rulers to help make your star points shine!
Before Class: starch your fabrics with best press or your favorite starch.
*All classes are subject to cancellation or rescheduling if the need arises. If a class has to be cancelled or rescheduled and you are unable to attend the new class, your class fee will be refunded to your Sunshine Quilt Shoppe account.
