A motto I live by is: “You never know what you are capable of until you try.” It’s the same motto I used to make my biggest dream come true–designing fabric for Moda Fabrics!
Hello, I’m Heather Briggs, the quilt pattern and fabric designer under my brand, My Sew Quilty Life. Although I have been sewing most of my life and designing professionally in a different industry for many years, I didn’t start quilting until 2017. Before leaving my career as an Architectural Designer in May 2021, I designed hospitals and healthcare facilities all over the United States. It was during my time obtaining my Masters degree and in my architecture career where I learned so many vital skills that would later lead me to develop a successful brand in the quilting industry.
I created My Sew Quilty Life during the pandemic in 2020 after daydreaming about what my own creative business could look like, bridging my passion for quilting and design. Even though I no longer design buildings, there are so many similarities between architecture and quilt design. I love working with simple shapes to create unique, detailed quilt designs that are feminine and romantic.
I am inspired by nature and have become obsessed with designing floral quilts. Some people even call me “the flower quilt queen.” I’ll take it! My style is traditional with a modern touch. It’s no surprise when I began designing fabrics that I wanted to design floral fabrics that were soft, sweet, and feminine to go with my floral quilt designs.
